From the Victoria and Albert Museum: “This Italian sculpture probably dates from the sixteenth century. The headband would once have been gilded and there are holes for lost earrings. Because African men were often depicted wearing these items, there is some debate over whether the figure is an adolescent boy or girl.

The line was conceived by museum director Renée Price, who travels the world to assemble the finest accessories for dogs and their owners, made by some of the most talented designers working today. Every item incorporates the principles of Vienna 1900 design: a refined aesthetic, exquisite materials, and superior craftsmanship.

The proceeds from the sale of Neue Hund go to support the Neue Galerie New York, benefitting the museum’s exhibitions, scholarly publications, and public programs such as lectures, concerts, and the film and cabaret series.
